I wanted ...Great minds Sara, that's you and me! I wanted to follow along with crazy quilt mom's 36 patch also...but! I wanted to use up a jelly roll gift(42` 2.5" strips). I can't get the 36 cuts from one strips, and to use more I wouldn't have enough blocks...darn! Then I realized I could very easily do a 16 patch, get two blocks from each combo of two strips, with almost nothing left over! So that's what I've been working on the past week or so. I paired them all up, sewed the pairs and as I get time, I pressed and cut, using Amanda's method which works great!! Love what you are doing with your layer cake!
