Orchid and turtle

I want you to see that the orchid that began blooming on January 8 is still holding on to its last two blooms six months later.

This is the first orchid I have ever had, and I am amazed at how long the blooms last.  I certainly brightened up my kitchen all through the winter.

And here is a very fuzzy shot of a snapping turtle on a log in our little lake.  That's its head sticking out to the right, and two legs in the center and left!  Me and my camera were way at the top of the hill with no tripod, so that's why the photo is poor.  I estimate the turtle to have been at least 10" in diameter.  Usually we see dark, smooth-backed turtles sunning themselves there that are about 4-5" max.

I wonder what the record is for orchid blooms. It must like you a lot.

I hope to see more of your garden soon. We have many blossoms on the zucchini, yellow squash and cucumbers. Looking forward to your wordless Wednesday. Hugs, Kim
