Old leg, new look

First view, bandaged knee and ankle/calf pump, to prevent blood clots,

Changing bandage reveals. . . . . .no staples!  Only Steri-strips.  Nurse is shocked, I was oblivious.

Tuesday I moved from hospital to rehab facility.  Physical therapy is exhausting.  Having some bitchy moments.

Lots of helpful staff
Charlie taking care of so much

Hey, it looks good! You know, I only had the strips on my arm surgery too. Never gave it a thought, really. Hmmmm . . .

Yes, PT is very hard and does cause a few bitchy moments and probably tears too. But it's worth it in the long run - I know you know that! But I hope it gets better for you. How long will you be at the rehab facility? I hope you're able to go home soon!

PT is worth every minute of the suffering. My husband has had lots over the last 7 years and I have found that the PTs were the most helpful. Doctors are great. Nurses too. The PTs are amazing. They see you and all the other people who have similar surgeries on a much more regular basis therefore exposing them to a broader range of what you have to expect and what may be a warning sign. My SIL just had rotator cuff surgery and the PT caught a problem with her shoulder that the doctor had missed. She is going through more analysis to find out what is wrong, but the PT caught it Between 2 office visits to the doctor in which he didn't recognize it. Bitchy moments will happen, but doing exactly what they want when they want it will make the healing better and faster. Besides a little whining and complaining and even bitching is excusable when you are in pain and still having to keep going.

hey there old friend, you are looking good! The leg and the rest of you *VBS* Awesome that you aren't in need of staples! In mine they cut the large thigh muscle, and much more re-enforcment was needed, inside and out.
Rehab will never win any popularity contests, but it will do what is need, so be bitchy, but do it! You'll be out and about in no time. Hugs, Finn

Be well, Sara! Hubby had two knee replacements, PT is definitely worth it, and though really hard at first, gets much easier. I'm in Flint, let me know if you need anything. Sue
