Chunky Churn Dash UFO

I had ten of these blocks in my UFO pile. Yesterday I decided that nine of them could make another baby quilt for Susan's project. At Bee meeting tonight I'm just handing this top to her as a top for her or someone else to finish. 32 inches square.

Tomorrow we are leaving for two weeks on Beaver Island in northern Lake Michigan. We went there for about ten years after the kids were gone from home. Charlie would take the Sunday service at the summer Episcopal chapel, and the pay was a week in the free cottage. The island is quiet, especially away from the harbor, and the cottage is right on the north shore, looking at more islands and the Lake. This year he got a call in July that they hadn't found a priest for the last two Sundays in August-- so we jumped at the chance!

I'm taking two old quilting projects and one new one. Now to see if I can fit the sewing machine's table into the car with everything else! Maybe I'll just have to use the kitchen table up there. [Oh yes, and a pile of escapist fiction.]

very fun, and it will keep some lucky baby really warm. and when you're on BI, do you get to meet Gwen Marston? have you ever gone to one of her retreats? I know they're not on the island, but she lives there.
